School Prefect Manifesto – Banji-Baruwa Oreoluwa

Good Afternoon Head of Schools, Vice Principal, Fellow students, Staff, Ladies and Gentlemen. My name is Oreoluwa Banji-Baruwa, a year 10 Art student of this great school. I am here before you, today, to present my school prefect manifesto to you. Thank you for nominating and giving me the opportunity to present my manifesto for a school prefect position.

My reasons for wanting to become a prefect are very tangible and varied. First and foremost, I have been privileged to have been moulded by Halifield Schools since January 2005. This makes me a sound product of this school as I possess morals instilled in me through my years here.

Secondly, I have always been an “A” student and maintained an 89% + percentile, for which I received numerous awards. “The most outstanding student award”, “Director’s Essay Award, and Zenith, project, best in science Award etc.

The hallmark of a good leader is being discipline. Through my years at Halifield, I have never been found guilty of any infraction. I am astute, honest and have the ability to turn adversity into advantage. I am also a team player and always willing to collaborate and work with others.

My School Prefect Mandate

If given the mandate to serve, my first priority will be ensuring a high sense of discipline in our school. This can be achieved with the help of my fellow prefects and school administration.

I will work alongside teachers to promote positive behavior in the students. I will work with the teachers to ensure no student behaves unruly and no one shows any negative behavior.

Good grades, a good record of following school rules, and a healthy relationship with my peers and teachers make me a good role model for others.

I will be sensitive to students’ problems. If any student is having a hard time with their classes or they are going through any issue, I will help them in any way I can to overcome that challenge and ensure that everyone’s voice is heard.

Staying connected and in communication with students will help me have a better sense of how they are doing and where I can help. If any student raises concern to me, I will convey the problems to the faculty to help bridge the gap between faculty and student.

Furthermore, I am good at solving problems so if my fellow prefects have any trouble with duties assigned, I will be able to help them out. This will ensure that the student body of the school runs efficiently and as a team, which will reduce the amount of extra work for teachers. As a school prefect, I promise to obey school rules and maintain my academic records. I will be a good ambassador for this school by maintaining order and be willing to take on extra responsibility

Thank you.
